Our
philosophy

Through our mindful design practice, we hope to weave a common thread of care and compassion between our materials and methods, ourselves and our customers.

Custhom is a British interiors brand dedicated to the quietly innovative act of making. Founded in 2010 by Jemma Ooi and Nathan Philpott, the studio develops its own processes for minimising waste while maximising the raw materials it works
with. Recognised for clean lines, bold forms and a playful use of colour, the studio creates wallpaper, textiles and ceramics that invite contemplation and inspire connection between people, objects and the environment.

We know that no one really needs another cup or bowl. As makers, it’s something we grapple with all the time. So how can we reconcile our own innate drive to create with today’s problems of overproduction and overconsumption? People will always want to curate their environments, so by creating things that bind us all to a deeper sense of self, we hope to form stronger, longer-lasting connections between the things we own and the people we are…
